Why run as a Libertarian? It's the party of principle. The same principles that our great nation and state were founded on to protect our personal AND economic liberties. Today, government, at all levels, is increasingly encroaching upon our private lives, rights as citizens, and financial well being. If elected Texas State Senator for District 16, I would foster a more business friendly state economy through smaller government and lower taxes, and ensure more personal freedom to the benefit of all Texans.

  • No more bailouts! More government won't "fix" our economy, health care, family welfare, etc.
  • Reduce government size to support constitutional authority only
  • Sunset or abolish all unnecessary programs and agencies
  • Return to free market solutions, community involvement and individual responsibility

  • End our convoluted tax structure - gross margins, ad valorem, TIRZ, etc.
  • Move to a FairTax Plan for Texas - a simplified, efficient and transparent solution
  • Return the savings to the Texas citizens

  • School choice - breakup the stifling public school monopolies
  • Return control to parents and local communities through student-centered education funding

Paul was taught entrepreneurship by example from his father, a WWII veteran, who by studying electronics on the GI bill, opened one of the first television sales and repair stores in rural Michigan (hence, Osborn TV). After attending Southern Methodist University on a Graduate Fellowship in Economics, Paul began his business career in the Dallas banking community where he got his first glimpse into the emerging information communications technology industry. Over the next 20 years he applied his entrepreneurial skills to develop and successfully implement several high tech business ventures worth 100s of millions of dollars, resulting in exceptional job growth and opportunities for employees. Paul lives with his wife Michele - a public school teacher, son Luke, and dog Lucy in Highland Park, Texas, while step-son Mark is off studying at Texas Tech.
